Step 1: Site Visit and Measurements

In our first design meeting, whether in person or virtual, we’ll visit the site to take measurements and assess the space. We'll discuss the project’s scope, including what you want to achieve, timelines, and budget. This is also the time to talk through design preferences, such as styles, colors, and materials you like or dislike. Sharing any inspiration or ideas will help guide the design direction. The goal is to gather all the details needed to create a plan that fits your vision and space.

Step 2: Layout and 3D Renderings

The second step involves transferring the layout into our CAD system, where we can create a detailed digital model of the space. Using this, we’ll start generating 3D renderings that bring the design concepts to life. These renderings will be shared with you, allowing you to visualize the design more clearly and provide feedback on any changes or adjustments you'd like to see. We’ll continue to revise the design based on your input, making updates to the renderings until we reach a point where you’re completely satisfied with the overall look and feel of the space. This iterative process ensures that the design aligns with your vision and expectations before moving forward.

Step 3: Architectual Layout and Wall Elevations

The third step is to develop a detailed architectural layout that includes precise dimensions, wall elevations, and measurements. This layout will map out all key aspects of the project, with callouts for details such as plumbing fixtures, cabinetry designs, countertops, tile patterns, lighting fixtures, and electrical device placements. This includes the positioning of outlets, switches, and any other electrical components. These comprehensive details ensure that every element, from structural components to design and functionality, is thoroughly planned for seamless execution.

Step 4: Scope of work

Step 4 is to create a very detailed scope of work that includes every aspect of the construction process. This comprehensive document will outline specific materials, construction methods, best practices, and ensure compliance with building codes. The scope will be organized by category, covering all elements of the project, including:

  • Framing and Structural Work: Details on wall construction, support beams, and necessary reinforcements.
  • Electrical Work: Wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and electrical panel upgrades.
  • Plumbing: Placement of pipes, installation of fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems.
  • HVAC: Ductwork, air conditioning, heating systems, and ventilation.
  • Insulation and Drywall: Types of insulation, drywall installation, and finishing techniques.
  • Flooring: Materials, underlayment, and installation details for hardwood, tile, or carpet.
  • Cabinetry and Millwork: Custom cabinetry designs, materials, and installation.
  • Countertops and Surfaces: Selection and installation details for countertops, backsplashes, and other surfaces.
  • Doors and Windows: Installation methods, materials, and specifications.
  • Tile and Stonework: Tile patterns, grout, and installation techniques for bathrooms, kitchens, and flooring.
  • Painting and Finishes: Paint types, application methods, and finishing touches.
  • Exterior Work: Siding, roofing, gutters, and any outdoor structures or landscaping.
  • Demolition: Details on the removal of existing structures or elements, including methods for safely dismantling and disposing of materials.
  • Daily Clean-Up: Procedures for maintaining cleanliness on-site, including debris removal and ensuring a tidy work environment at the end of each day.

This detailed scope ensures that every aspect of the project is meticulously planned and executed, providing a clear roadmap from start to finish.

Step 5: Preperation of Documents

Step 5 involves preparing and delivering all necessary documents for the project. This includes:

  • Plan Set: A comprehensive collection of documents that features 3D renderings, wall elevations, and architectural layouts, all with detailed measurements.
  • Scope of Work: A thorough document outlining every aspect of the construction process.

We will provide one hard copy of the complete plan set in a presentation folder, as well as a PDF file for your convenience. If additional hard copies are needed, they can be ordered upon request. This ensures you have all the detailed documentation required for review, planning, and execution of the project.

Step 6: Estimate Review (Optional)

Step 6 is an optional service available at an additional cost. In this step, we can assist with reviewing estimates, researching potential contractors, and providing advice on selecting the right contractor for your project. This support ensures you make informed decisions and choose a contractor who aligns with your project needs and budget.
